This class provides an introduction to who we are and what we are about as a church. We discuss baptism, communion, our theological roots as a part of the Brethren In Christ U.S., and what membership means. Church membership doesn’t mean the same thing it did during certain parts of church history, but we still believe that this is an important milestone step, because the church is a family of love in which the fullness of Christian life is experienced and expressed-a community of Christ-followers. Around here, membership is about a commitment to discipleship and holy living as a collective body.
If you are new to NLC, this is a great place to start. We hope that as you come to understand our history, values, and vision, you will want to be a part of NLC and make a commitment to our church family. Whether or not membership is something you end up pursuing at this time, we trust that this class will be valuable as a space to think about what God is doing in our world and you.
